Hey noone, my apologies if you took my jest the wrong way, I'm very rarely serious about anything, and I wasnt having a go at you.
I see you are relatively new here, and I hope you stick around long enough to see and appreciate how much of a fool i really am!!![]()

Ha! No problems guys, this place is very comforting for someone like myself with little to no concept about cars accept what I like.
All good...
Its good to get everyones input, helps me spend wisely.
Thanks crew.
no worries mate, shoot us a few photos to gloat over![]()
Well,
Went with the H&R springs alone (no shocks) in the end.
I'm very happy with the results so far, although I cant comment on the other options and how much better / worse they'd be.
The mechanic commented that the stock shocks to him left the ride more comfortable.
Car is lower, feels more planted and a little flatter in the corners (though I didn't think it rolled much when stock).
Now i'd best go...

Ok, now I'm really confused.
Ever since I was looking at getting the H&Rs, I wanted to make sure that the overall ride comfort would be the same, as comfort and looks are my priority.
The general response was, "Lower car = shorter springs = stiffer suspension = harsher ride" -- Like I said, comfort is at the top of my list. So I lost interest as I didn't want to sacrifice comfort for a lower stance.
Now in the last few weeks, I've read three reports that state since putting the H&Rs in on stock shocks, the ride is bouncier but it's a more comfortable ride than stock springs?
If anyone who has a GTI with H&Rs on stock shocks would like to drive me around so I can get a feel for the ride myself, it would be very much appreciated.

just out of interest, i've read many many times something along the lines of "20mm lowered sports suspension" and "the gti sits 20mm lower than the other pogs", but does anyone know if the shocks are different in the gti than they are in the others? (i would presume so)
or is it a case of 15-20mm lowering springs in the gti as opposed to stock?
cheers!
