Turbo manifold, turbo, injectors, PNP ecu, exhaust. Done
Reckon I could do it for 2k DIY, so cheap and easy...
Damn that sucks. I hope your car gets fixed soon. Same thing happened to my other car recently.
Just a curious question to ask, does anyone know of some cheap, DIY mods I can do on a budget with the mk3?
Looking at slowly building the Cab this year.

The point I'm trying to make is things like cost and what you can do DIY is all relative.
What can you do, how much is your budget and what mods are you into???

Coilovers.
312mm brakes.
12v swap
I guess I just want to clean the car up and make it presentable. I just want functional mods.
Some of the stuff I am looking at is the air intake mod (hate the stock box), finding a way to shorten the antenna, cleaning up/replacing the outer black trim .etc. I prefer functionality and stuff.
Things like coilovers, wheels and exhaust will happen later. A brake conversion isn't worth it when the back has drums haha..
The thought was spurred by the fact I am heading to the wreckers tomorrow.

Piece of universal intercooler piping cut to suit.
SCA pod filter
Stubby antenna's off ebay or ecs.
Forever black or spray paint from SCA for trims
Well that's pretty reasonable and easy to hunt for bargains.
Have seen coilovers on FB cheap and stubby ants on ebay.
The bumpers can be cleaned up with a heat gun to bring back the blackness or like you say, painted. I've sprayed cars in the past but you can get decent results with a rattle can. Painting is all about the prep.
Re the brakes, remember that about 80% of the braking is done up front, so could be worth while.
Maybe an AIrbox from another car or a custom setup from alloy.
There is no limit when you're prepared to get your hands dirty![]()

Yea parked on a main road, is parking but people still try to squeeze past and this is the end result! Dont know how the hell they managed to only hit half my guard and bumper. The bumper is kind of melted too? Thinking a truck tbh, reflector was even knocked out of the bumper so must have been at 60kmh! So do I just Harlequin the vento now? Just be a blue base and slowly paint all my panels?
Working on the golf, anyone who has a parts car or a bonnet latch and the upper bonnet cable connection lemme know I'm ready to pay and pickup now.
@Milan depending on what your going for, I would look into some new taillights and front indicators to give the car a cleaner look as well, I've got a another airbox I'm going to be swiss cheesing today actually so I'll post up some pics
Mk3 2.0. Mk3 VR6 CC. Future Mk2?
@browntown42 Thanks for the comment mate. I managed to snag some tail lights a while back and managed to snag some newer engine parts today which is awesome. I'll post pics later.
Guess I am going to go for all clear lights, redye the roof, air intake (don't know if I'll swiss cheese or not), repair the seat and such. Just want a cruiser and not a race car haha
