There is both a new one and a demo one in Perth, blue sedan with satnav, sunroof and dynaudio. The demo one has 4100km and is listed at 67 990 on carsales.com.au. It started at something like 71 990 and has gradually been reduced over the last 1.5 mths. The problem with demo is the stamp duty which if I recall was over $4000. Not to mention what people probably do with them. I offered on both of them but at the time what I was offering was a bit too low.
80k is the non discounted price for the options you want. If you can get a fleet discount because of the company you work for it is a great help, usually 10% for the R36. You actually get more than 10% off because the lower value of the car results in less LCT (the 10% is calculated on the cost of the car before taxes and options). Most people in this forum seem to have been able to achieve prices around 65k - 68k even for the wagon with those options. This is a further discount on top of the fleet discount. Check the price for passat thread which has a fair bit on the R36.
I guess you'd need the 335 to get acceleration better than the R36. I too tried both Accords and was a totally different world. The R36 is much nicer to sit in even before you start the engine. The Euro despite its relatively sporty look and twin exhaust pipes is slower than my wife's standard Volvo S40. 0-100 was greater than 9 secs if I recall correctly. Feels ok to 60km/h, I guess that's how they set up the gearbox, but after that it was shocking. The Accord V6 did not feel fast either.
