    I had the same problem which I ignored for a few months until the handbrake also started to intermitently get stuck on or off. It was recently fixed by replacing the handbrake button (part # 3CO927225CREH).

    I am such an idiot!!! Didn't realise if you have auto hold on and go into reverse or drive the park brake will disengage automatically.... Doh!! Handy for steep hills.

    I'm going to have to retract my earlier claims about the park brake engaging when i wait for my apartment garage doors to open while i'm using auto hold. Even though the front wheels are on inclined ramp, while i wait for the doors to open, i've worked out it's due to me taking off my seatbelt while i wait that triggers the park brake to engage, nothing else.
