VAG-COM Error codes from my car ...

Hi Adam, I beleive its the same as the recirculation flapper, and its under the dash in the passenger footwell. I had this error once, cleared it and it's never come back. BUT there is a distinct servo-clicking sound occasionally but you can temporarily reset it by turning on the AC and selecting Recirc. BTW it a real PITA to fix by previous accounts.

Other than that, looks like the VAGCOM cable did the trick for troubleshooting... not sure about that Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect Flow Detected error

Ah! I could hear a clicking sound from the centre of the dash, thought it was something to do with having the cable attached. Will try resetting the code and see if it comes back.

I wonder if that Secondary Air Injection System error could be because of the split vacuum hose?

Go to the ross-tech.com wiki and look up the codes. Or google them. Usually worth deleting and checking what comes back.

Good call Gavin! Found the secondary air injection one on the wiki here: 16795/P0411/001041 - Ross-Tech Wiki

All sounds quite vague though, quite a few things it could be. One of them is pipes/hoses between components so maybe, just maybe, it is being caused by the split vacuum hose I found (see other thread). Will get that replaced first, reset the codes and see how it goes.

That's the problem when there's more than one thing that could set off the code. You just have to use your imagination a bit and think outside the box.

Boost leaks for example, usually snag the diverter valve, not very often a problem cos most folk have replaced them. It's just the only thing the ECU has control over that could be causing the leak.

OK, so 5 days after changing the breather hose (aka vacuum hose) the only fault showing on the VAG-COM now is:

1 Fault Found:
16523 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S2: Response too Slow
P0139 - 35-00 - -

Definnitely need to get that replaced then. Not sure how the breather hose has fixed the coolant sensor but hey, VW's work in mysterious ways right?!

Like your thinking Gavin but a dealer reset the codes a few weeks ago after seeing faults from the MAF, O2 and Coolant sensors, so the coolant sensor fault I saw on the VAG-COM (in my OP) occurred after that reset.

I have ordered a new O2 sensor from ECS today and while I was at it ordered a coolant sensor too as they are not expensive, might as well change it at the same time and know I have a good one in there.
