Hi everyone.

so earlier this year I was looking around for a golf I had previously owned a mk2 gti and regretfully sold it a few years ago, I came across this mk4 gti with front end damage and fairly high km it had no bids on ebay im still not quite sure why I did it but I put a bid on this car on ebay without inspecting it, and not knowing the condition of it but anyway few days later I had won the car haha
its an early model 1999 and it wasn't the best example of a gti, but at the price it sold for I was happy to buy it as a project. the previous owner was kind enough to fill me in and send plenty of pictures of the damage before I arranged to have the car transported to melbourne

I had it shipped from qld to vic pulled off the damaged panels and bumpers to see how bad it was underneath, surprisingly it was pretty straight and i only had to replace the rad support and headlights as the brackets were non-existent.

I found a bumper for sale that was the same color and it also came with the front lip that mine was missing, had an undamaged fender painted and fitted but the colour is just not right and its still bugging me now. I left the damaged grill hanging there for a little while.

the car came with an annoying as hell turbosmart BOV and the mufflerless exhuast was loud and droned at constant rpm, so first thing i did was get rid of the BOV and had a resonator and muffler fitted to the exhaust.

the car didn't need too much for RWC, just needed to fix an oil leak from the rocker cover, fit standard springs as it came with pedders springs and fix up a few little things here and there and it was all good to go.
so far its been a cheap and fun little daily and i drive it everywhere and anywhere I can, the golf even made the trip all the way up to the snow without any issues

now time for mods
