New T5 Duel Cab factory tray questions.

Hi everyone, my first post here.

I found this forum through google and it has plenty of information for us Aussies.

Ok here is my deal,I am a rooftiler and I have ordered a Duel cab T5 Transporter back in August, the 4motion with plenty of extras, and I am about to get it in the next couple of weeks. I got the factory tray, for it and now its time for me to decide what I am going to do for ladder racks ect. I am getting the dealer to fit roofracks and heavy duty towing kit, now I am going to be taking my ladder off and on the Van multiple times a day, so I need to find out what is going to be the best option. The racks are allso going to be taking loads from time to time allso, so they need to be strong, and they must be level with my roof racks.

Is there anyone in the sydney area that could maybe fit some type of rack and ladder system to the factory tray, I forgot to mention that the ladder rack system may need to be on a roller set up for easy on and off access, my other option is to get a friend to make me up some racks, but I would still be without a ladder setup. I have found some ladder rack setups on the web but they are mostly tied in with a tray or roofrack system, and I havnt found any for a T5 duel cab.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They'll be able to make up some really good ladder racks for you. Even using your factory tray. I've got them on a T4 DOKA and they the ducks nuts. Easily manage 300kg up there even though it makes the T4 a little top heavy. And they offer plenty of trinkets like rollers, integrated tie down systems, underbody boxes, Trundle Trays and the like...

Just don't blame me if you end up wanting VW to keep their factory tray....even though that's what I'd do.

Agree with the above, put a gitsham on mine, when you live in Adelaide it's the obvious choice. The factory tray cost more, was smaller and didn't even come with a headboard. Aftermarket alloy trays give you the flexibility to do anything your imagination can think of.
