    2 sets please.

I made these bits for JP_AIrcooled_TDI by hand with hammers, files, drill and a hacksaw. He at least had the other bits.

I've got a genuine GTI bar on one car with these brackets, the white car I'm racing has an old whiteline bar which mounts very differently.

I think I'll move this thread back to the MK1 section soon as it's stopped being a classified and turned into a remanufacturing thread.

For the sake of the conversation and to give the bits some names and numbers we can use.

Here's a set for sale in the UK and I happen to recognise the seller as a member here that goes by the name of youngtimer if anyone wants to reach out to the UK.

Thursday or after will be cool Luke,
I am more interested in keeping them OEM looking so we can modify the original bracketry same way VW did it, the goal being to be able to sell em as original sway bar brackets.
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,

yep thats the look i'm after too, thinking of mainly getting steel for the brackets but myself and Peter may want to look at aluminium as every gram removed counts on the track

If you wanna do Ally I would mill them from 6061 T6 plate for some thickness and strength.

Try getting them wire cut. Possibly cheaper if you get them from the right toolmaker.. You can stack 6 or so plates together and cut them in the one hit.

Wirecutting is an option, will look at total cost before commencement of work.

Not sure that alloy ones would be worth the investment.

I'm having trouble picturing how you'd mill them anyway.

If I were to be focusing that hard on the bracket I'd want to be looking at a different bearing setup altogether and fabricating the arms from scratch.

I do like milled alloy parts though

A re-design of the mount might help, I don't see why the sway bay bush has to be central to the bracket, it could be offset to either side and still function the same.
