Indicator blinker frequency, how is your Mk1 ?

My Mk1 left and right blinker frequency was different, right one is faster like (da.da.da.da.da.) compare to left one which is similar to Mk4 (da....da....da....da....) not sure if this explains clear enough
Last week I replaced the blinker relay, I expected both side be back to da....da....da....da.... pattern, but it turned out the other way. Both side now is da.da.da.da.da..
    Is this normal ??

dude if the flasher is travelling at twice speed it is almost definitely a blown indicator bulb, chuck the hazards on and do a walk around, you will most likely find you have bulbs out

Also check that the globe holders are earthing correctly...

Mine tick at different rates, left is steady rate, right changes as it sees fit..
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,

Check your globe wattage. 18 or 21 watts are the size, marked on the globe itself.
I am thinking you are going to hit me with some questions tomorrow when you see me....

    hey mate,
i've just finished fixing this problem with mine.
turned out it was a combination of dodgy elec supply to indicator and the grounding terminal was also dirty, therefore having intermitent working indicator. I'd also check the globes and try a few different things here and there, old golfs are known for their character haha!

    cheers

bit off topic, but the ADR regs require a flasher to operate 60 - 80 times a minute. if youre outside that range and cop can put your car off the road (but probably only if youre not nice to him LOL)
