interesting, as if you look at my ordered options i'd be surprised if solitaire just happened to have a car ordered the same

Update: Golf 118TSi gets to "Sydney" on 5/10/2010, not the dealer, as promised earlier. I've been told "10 days to get to the dealer and another 3 days to turn it around for you to drive away". Estimated time of pick up now out to 18 October. Let's say 22 October to give them some wriggle room.

HURRY UP!
I am relaying most of this information tongue in cheek as I take everything anyone says, especially car salesmen, with a massive grain of salt. It was never promised, just the usual "6 to 8 weeks MAX" then as I agreed to the sale "up to 6 weeks" then as the money starts to change hands "more like 10 weeks"!
Hi guys,
Just placed my order today for my Mk6 Gti, 3Door, 6 Speed Manual, Reflex Silver.
Woo Hoo so excited.
Cant wait =]
Congrats!
Of course, you need to figure that naming error in your sig :)
Once dealers have advance "stock orders" in the system (as opposed to specific orders for customers), they can change the spec of the stock car up until the time the car moves to "frozen status" in the factory build schedule. Solitaire had a few cars (not allocated to customers) that were ordered on the factory back in January. They didn't move to frozen status until about a month ago, so because I got in and ordered my car just before then, they could change it to my spec. If everything went to plan, those cars should have been built last week (week 38).
Dealer just rang and said the VW Aust has advised that delivery of my R is now expected in April rather than Jan. :ohwell:
woah man, that's a huge delay! did they say why?
Oh my.. Damn that's a bit of a delay. Reason?
And when did you order? If it makes you feel better I ordered in June for an early Dec delivery.. Nearly 7 months all up. I have nearly necked myself waiting but keep it together with the likes of watercooled, you know who you are.
