Vader is in hand!!
I'll give it a few Klms before a drive critique. So saying, I don't think I'll be able to add anything that already hasn't been said...
Clarkson, I'm not.
First impressions of the 2 door B on B on B, 'Murdered'... Most of us who have ordered R's have in common the fact that our configurations largely are sight unseen. We bought off brochures and our gut feel. There where reviews and some photos but many like me could not have an exact picture of the final product simply because we were/are breaking ground. Truthfully, I didn't even think about the colour, i've owned black cars in the past, so Black it was, with black wheels and black interior. Remembering Jason's (the sales guy) mannerisms when taking my order, he was stoked, no one had ordered a black, to me i was wondering, still do, why anyone would buy an R other than black. As it has turned out, Black isn't everyones cup of tea. go figure.... Two weeks out from delivery, i went up to the dealership and there on the showroom floor has a white R... so beautiful sitting there with the rear view mirrors accented in black with black wheels, wow. White would be my choice if I had it to do over again and THE CAR NEVER MOVED. My grandma would have loved the white. Gotta hand it to VW, they understand when a black is ordered the owner wants a friggin black car, NO RED HIGHLIGHTS, NO CHROME ACCENTS... WE WANT BLACK!!! and i'm please to say when you order a black R that is exactly what you get. It is minimalist, understated, with an aggressive front end and a Jessica Biel rear.
The R crouches in two doors, looks shorter than the 4dr, released, the beauty comes into its own, black body against black wheels against black rubber against black tarmac traveling at 110 clicks, it floats, what a sight!!!
But the last word should go to my pimp, Tyrone, who was instrumental in offering advice as to the config of my R.
"Hay Weewilly, wheres my 20bucks u o me from last night!!!...":banana:
