Anyone know how long it generally takes before it gets allocated to a vessel so i can start tracking it?
VIN and Engine numbers are supplied at "Checkpoint 8 Handover to Sales". It's actually an addition 6 to 7 days before it "Exit Production Plat", a further 5 or so days before it reaches "Arrival Port of Shipment" and can be 8 days or more before it will "Departure Port of Shipment". It is after this that it shows up on the tracking site.
So, from the time when the VIN is available, it can take 3 weeks to a month before it'll appear on the vessel tracking site!

My order was placed at the beginning of July, but my car was taken from one that the dealer had already entered into the system way back in May for floor stock. Original ETA was Nov 30th.Quote:

True - but others should be aware that VW's erWin tool identifies an MY11 model as "Year of manufacture: 2011". The report from erWin should NOT be relied on in this circumstance for year identification.Quote:
