on another note... it has got to a point again for me that Volkswagen have failed with there colour options in the interior. Why can bascially every other car manufacturer in the world offer some degree of palette to the interior and Volkswagen dismiss this... it was basically a deal breaker when i bought my MKV and on the R, i am very dissappointed and has stopped me jumping over the line...
Hey mate. Yeah that would be me and thank you

Im still up in arms about leather but i think i will go with out... Its something i WANT but don't NEED. Same with power upgrades but i WANT those more than leather haha Whats your name on boost? Might know it.

LOL isnt always WANT but DONT need LOL... im the same sign, Byza... basically keep name the same on all forums which is good and bad... i currently have the BMP MKV with the bright wheels that people dont really like on Boost!!!! its all good, you might even come to appreciate some of the euro styling too...

i dont know you siutation or how your buying the car but if there is some kind of finance etc, its a tiny amount extra in the loan to get leather and tbh probably better later with wear/tear and resale...

youll learn quick the power upgrade arent like Jap cars... throwing an exhaust doesnt really help unless its a TBE and if you do that, then you need a retune because of a Cell etc... modding a late model VW adds up very quickly when modding... my advice is just get a retune.. it is like day and night from standard... if you feel you need more later, intake doesnt do anything really but makes noise!!! DPs are basically the next step for power increase etc..

Which dealer are you speaking too??

I was looking on the GO APR website and it states that the Stage I (I think) will give you a 51kw increase (118kw to 239kw) and a 110nm increase in torque (330nm to 440nm) all for $1800. In anyone's books thats good value for money!

Heres a link APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

Currently dealing with Newstead. The guy im dealing with there is really good!

APR is running by Guy... if you have driven an R, i would then go around and see Guy from APR and see if he will take you for a spin in his which he took delivery of 2 weeks ago i believe... worth a thought but you will get good gains out of any of the major tuning companies being GIAC, APR, REVO etc

Since Coreying merged the threads you wouldn't have seen but I and a few others have gone crazy over this choice. I won't repeat it but flick back a page or so and enjoy the pain LOL

Haha good selection list, makes it hard hey? My order of preference is exactly the same but in reverse order!

Yeah I think its quite reasonable. It's not the top of the range leather but it is definately not poor quality. I think they add a nice level of luxury to the car over cloth seats.

I laughed, but probably wasn't called for.

You sort of do, cloth vs leather is different colour? If you really wanted to, you could go cloth and just have the trim reupholstered in whatever colour combo you liked. For $3300 it can be done I think but you miss out on the features Coreying mentioned.

I agree, anyone in Brisbane who is interested in modding a VW should go and see Guy! But if you want to drive the R, you may not want to do that right now, because if you check out this post, it's currently without an engine

Hey guys, I'm going to pick up my R from Canberra tommorrow. I will be driving it back to Sydney. It has Recaro's so i'll let you guys know how the seats are after a 3+ hour drive. I'm a bit concerned on running the engine in on the highway, I guess if I constantly keep it under load and vary the revs it should be allright. Any suggestions?

You could drive it back along the coast road... but that'll take a lot longer than along the Federal and then Hume Highways. But yes, vary the revs and load!

I drove mine back and it hasn't required an oil top up, and they are run in at the factory anyway.. You can use the paddles to vary the revs quite well, just don't sit on 100 in the same gear etc.

And make sure you floor it when you drive past Goulburn, there are never any police patrolling that stretch of highway. and in case you missed that one, again.
