Well REXman, I haven't experienced it, and I was directly replying to another member who believes he's experienced it but was also questioning whether it was clutch slip or ESP... so no blinkers involved really, just questions...

In any case, if it is clutch slip, should be pretty easy to identify via logging with VCDS.

I have noticed, especially when its cold, that the DSG makes a few loudish "clunking" sound when I go from R to D. Its a very noisy engagement.

Even when warmed up, still makes the same noises, although not as loud, but still audible when going into 1st gear.

Service centre said that it was a normal sound, and nothing to be concerned about .............. just like the rattle ........

Have no issues or whatsoever with my Mk6 GTI DSG gearbox
That sounds more like ESP. It will reduce the power and if there is still a problem, engage individual brakes. Having provoked a Honda into engaging the ESP, that's just what happened.

but just because it sounds like ESP doesn't mean it was in your case.

If you can suggest what fields to monitor, I'll happily go out this weekend and try to repeat it!

The best person to ask would be logger. He has done logging on the 7sp DSG box several times and provided answers to us here about what it's doing when moving from take-off and shifting etc. I just can't remember which thread it was in to find the details....

Could you please name the dealer who is fobbing you off?

Yeah that's one of the posts! Does the spreadsheet give you any idea about what you'd need to monitor in the DSG?

Could take a stab using the clutch path/position along with accelerator position, speed, rpm and gear selected along with some temps. I think you can get 12 fields at a time. If you look in the Labels dir where you installed VCDS, open file "02E-300-0xx.lbl" in a text editor and that will show you all possible fields to log. The 2 clutch path fields logger used aren't available so not sure what to select there.

Though from memory I think every time I tried to do advanced measuring on my DSG the VCDS application would crash. I had to use the normal measuring blocks screen and select the predefined groups when I did the temp logging. Never tried another laptop to see if that was the issue or not, nor follow it up with Ross-Tech.

Well, unfortunately, it did the slippage again.. twice!! Once in the city, once on the way home.

Nearly all the times so far.. it does it in slow speeds, usually when it is going to\from 2nd gear. And then it just slams the redline. 1st time tonight in the city was a bit iffy but lucky it was only around 11am so not many cars around.

So its now at the stage though.. where I have to get it checked.

    I have done 3400kms.
