Yeah I was more concerned as you mention, about longer corners where you want to hold revs.. so manual mode is fine. Thats good to know !!

Should be quicker than the 5.7 they quote to a 100. And if you bothered doing the intercooler, Down pipe and Air intake.. should be alright.
This will be a car I dont replace the whole exhaust on (as I normally do). Apparently, If you isolate the part of the exhaust which is bottlenecking the flow, you might find you only need to change the DP, for instance.
I know on the XR6 Turbo for instance, the whole exhaust has been proven to be great and only needed the rear muffler changed for bang/buck. Apparently the rest of the exhaust flow well. Ill have to do soome research on the golf situation.
I cant be bothered upping the turbo on this one.. So ill probably just do the above (cooler, air, tune, DP).. which I am not sure what that would net.. but would be alright.
I'd love to know what a nicely worn in motor with 10-15000KMs on it makes..
