This is obviously care of APR Australia.
This shows the 200kw (non-Australian) version of the Golf R, compared to the APR Stage I ECU on the same Golf R. Figures are at the flywheel and using what equates to 98 Octane fuel.
You can see that the power isn't really dropping off yet at 6500rpm. However, it's not a large peak there either. Torque has already dropped off significantly though. So you probably would be better off changing up rather than holding the revs at the redline anyway.
