i wouldn't trust that one!
according to whereismaps themselves, the next one for vw/audi/skoda is going to be when they release their v18 maps.
"Please note: There is no Version 17 map update available for purchase. The next update available will be Version 18 in late 2011/early 2012."
their current v16 maps is the current vw v3 map.
The part number is old and the copyright is not current.
Pass on that one son.
it is really ! V4 is out.
Got a part number?
Link? Anything? Ta
Bit confusing with our VW versions being 3 (and maybe 4) whilst WhereisMaps talking versions 16,17 and 18. Some other car makes are getting version 17 released to them, whilst VW / Audi have to wait for a v18.
Sure would be nice if that ebay disk was legit - driving from VIC to ACT was interesting with a number of road changes leaving my sat nav telling me to drive through a field at times :(
Our V3 maps is equivalent to V16.
So a little bit of Back to the Future, with our RNS510 thinking it's back in 2009!
Actually what their website says is that the after market head units by Bosch and Blaupunkt wont have updates available - "Buy map updates for selected Volkswagen models which have a Bosch (or Blaupunkt) system." - it makes no mention of OEM disks for OEM headunits like the RNS510. I've emailed them to ask for an update on RNS510s - will post any reply.
Kinda looks Authentic... the Part Number on it though for the 2nd one doesn't turn up anything, according to this page, the first 9 digits remain the same and the last one is the iteration : RNS-510 FAQ and Part Number Listing [Archive] - VWnavi.com ie, v2 = C, v3 = D, so it's feasible the H revision of this could be v17.
Also, the Copyright on the edge of the disc says 2010.
If this was Mythbusters, I'd be calling this one a "Plausible".
I'll give a VW parts department a call and see if I can get some more info.
