I'm not sure how long is been there due to noisy tyres. But I've just noticed a new metal on metal rattle.
At first I thought it was the catalytic converter again, but seems to be coming from the engine bay.
Happens when say I accelerate in 2nd at low speeds. Can hear it at 3krpm, then at around 4k rpm. Fairly consistently.
Can hear it in other gears too, just Havnt narrowed down at what rpm and when etc.
Pretty quiet, enough that I can't seem to hear it in 5th at speed.
Any ideas?
Get in 3rd under similar rpm too I'm pretty sure
How's the oil level???
Could be a heat shield or some other metallic object rattling.

oxygen sensor? Mine rattles at a certain RPM, need a tool to tighten it back up but I think this is what you are hearing

I've had engine vibrations transfer through my shifter linkages and 'through' my gear knob, sounding like a metallic rattle/ring.
This in on a 02Y gearbox though, so don't know if it would happen with cable shift box's.
I had similar on the Vento actually, fixed it by moving the heat shields around a bit (I think so anyway, Havnt driven it far or at speeds since)
Bora has fixed itself I think? Maybe something was stuck up under the car causing something else to rub?
