forge tip query

hi guys , after installing the tip, im racking my brain to think of ways to getting the cooling hose to not press against the tip, which im asuming is a normal thing for the tip instalation. has anyone conjured up ideas to somehow prevent this from happening. a few ideas ive had was A/ to saw off the end of it and get a longer rubber part of the cooling hose. though the problem with this is maybe the rubber will prematurally deteriorate being so close to the engine bay/
B/bending it somehow to get it away from the tip, though it would be bloody hard to manually bend it at the end. or C/ undo the "nut of doom"(you all know the one im talking about), bend it mid way along use nuts/washers etc to push the bracket away from the engine bay and get a longer bolt to fit.can someone please tell me are these just hair brained ideas? has someone actually solved this problem? or should i just be bloody happy and stop winging.

So you are having problems with the cooling hose!

The only way to clear the TIP from the steel pipe is bending it a little. But just the point after the bolt! That’s the catch, there is not much place for holding, try a lever.

In my car I could install the TIP without removing the pipe, however it was doing some interference. So I bend it.

It is very difficult to bolt on the pipe again. I thought in other solution, try to use a 10mm spacer, probably will solve the problem without headache.

i agree i had troubles with this pipe just unbolt the one off the gearbox, bend it out find a longer bolt, space the bracket out using a large nut then bolt it back up giving plenty of clearance! Also look out for the tip catching near the bulk head on pipe clips just bend those out of the way! tba its a bad fit and i was expecting it to be better! Also someone told me to cut half an inch off of the tip turbo end which pulls it further in, but i didnt dare LOL

Mate its such a painful instal anyway my advice is don't make it anymore painful than it already is. I was concerned with that cooling pipe but no one who has done the TIP install has had any repercussions with the TIP resting up against that cooling pipe. I certianly havn't experienced anything adverse so far since I installed mine a few weeks ago.
But in order to get the TIP on the turbo you will at the very least have to loosen the bracket that bolts it onto the engine block. I had to remove this screw completely in order to give me enough room to move the pipe out of the way and thats not much in the first place. Its a jammed packed fit any way you look at it. Once the TIP is in place just do the bolt back up. The TIP is pretty solid and the silicone rubber isn't going to perish anytime soon I don't think. Silicone has a pretty high tolerance for heat.
Anyway just my 2c.

yeah i got it on pretty much right after getting the airbox out of the way. though that nut was a pain in the a$$!:brutal:,......i think im just picci , might see if i can bend it without removing the bolt.not sure how yet, get leverage in there is next to impossible.

i think i might put her up on the ramps again this weekend, i might be able to better asses my options, im thinking of going the bracket idea, meaning ill have to face putting that anoying bolt on again. hopefully my seat intake will be here by then as well(fingers crossed)

Just let sleeping dogs lie...It dosn't cause any trouble, and it dosnt hinder anything...May just risk braking the pipe, and having to spend more money in the process...
