    Hi everyone,

    I'm Sam and I own a 2016 MY17 Tiguan Rline Highline 140TD.

Currently looking to add another VW into the family.

Wife is looking at upgrading her mazda to either a Golf R mk7.5 or Golf GTI mk7.5

I would really appreciate any advice about these two individual models.

    Thank you

What made you go the GTI/R instead of the other?

Well it is rather simple really, can you justify spending the extra $$ for the R.
If you can, buy the R.
If you cannot see the value in the extra power and AWD get the GTI.
Drive them back to back. See which one appeals/excites you more, and go for that one.
If you love the R but cannot justify the extra money but can go with out some standard features get the Grid Edition.

The r everytime drove both the gti and r 7.5 back to back around phillip island and have to say between the 2 would never pick the gti and would go into extra debt for the r its just that much better

Definitely have her drive both and consider comfort factor. I'm assuming a more supple suspension in the GTI vs the R? Comfortable ride may be a big factor if she's doing a lot of kms.
