Customs, basically yeah you'd be hit with Duty/GST if what you're bringing in is worth more than $1000AUD at time of importation - I believe that Freight is included in this but not 100% certain. They're looking at changing this to anything over $50AUD but don't think it's happened yet. If you can break it into 2 shipments of under $1000 each that should help. Plenty of people do it that way.

    Cheers & good luck!
Duty/GSt is only added onto the purchase if the purchase price (not inclusive of shipping) is over $1000AU.
Then you also incur customs fees i believe.

Breaking it into 2 shipments is okay but increases shipping costs.
You could try and see if they will increase the shipping cost and give you a discount on the wheel price to cover the difference.

freight isn't included in the $1k limit but if you exceed $1k then they include the freight in the amount you pay duty on.

eg: $999 goods plus $500 freight =no duty or GST
    $1001 goods plus $500 freight = ~$225 duty+GST

Does anyone have a mate with a boat? Like a really, really big boat?? If so, MULTIPLE GROUP BUYS!! Just think... No duties or taxes, a couple of cartons for boat owner instead of shipping! With the money we save, we could get even more performance/appearance enhancements!

Now where was that "who tows a boat" thread... ?

duty is 5% & is levied on the $1500 total = $75. GST is 10% but I can't remember if it's on the $1500 or $1575, so I called it $150 hence my use of the ~ to denote approx.

Oh yes. How abt lug bolts n nuts. I'm looking at aftermarket ones to replace the OEM's n also a locking nut per wheel for safety. Looking at black ones if u have any suggestions.

Currently have the McGard lock nut as a short list. Just like this one: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...ing-wheel-nuts

Do u guys know what spec I Shd get? The seller of the GTCX wheels said the stock bolts sizes r fine.

I asked Tirerack. My initial order was for 8 tyres and shipping was just under 500. I was told I might save 25 bucks if I only shipped 4. So it would be close to 900 for shipping vs 500.
