    POI inport into RNS 510 - anyone tried this

    Hi,

    anyone tried this..POInspect0r

    POInspector- for custom POI design, download onto SD card, and import into RNS510....

    Yes ... but no success via SD card route based on our V3 map running on FW 3810 or higher!
    Will load them successfully onto RNS510, but can't access them due to our outdated V3 map!

    However the very same software can create a modified V3 map with own POIs to an iso file, that you then burn to CD or DVD.

    In other words, the "old school" method of adding POIs works with this software on our V3 map running on FW 2760 or lower!


    Nice bit of software and worth the 9 euros to unlock.

    Supports a lot of GPS file formats for co-ordinates (.asc; .gpx; .kml; & .ov2).

    The only annoying thing is icons must be in .png file format and strictly adhere to a 34 x 39 pixels (portrait) dimension. However it's very easy to convert and resize say jpegs using your standard Paint or picture editor.

    But well worth the exercise as once complete, the icons come out crystal clear on the screen!
