Getting stereo out to check OBDII port

Hi All,

Apparently my OBDII port (located under the climate control/dual DIN dvd screen) doesnt work in my Bora.
I want to pull out the head unit so I can check for dodgy connections etc.

Any hints or tips to make my life easier?

Get stuck in, its not hard. Take so you dont damage anything. Who told you that it doesnt work?

mechanic who uses VAGCOM
i'll be testing myself with vchecker that arrived today too (need it to know if the wire's im testing has fixed it). Apparently its a common issue with aftermarket headunits affecting the Kline

just checked and yeah its not readable.
Where do I start with getting access to that area?

depends what stereo you got... what happened to the original K-Line?
you could pull the climate control head out too
