Touareg MY15 wait or buy MY14 before VW Fleet Pricing changes

Looking around to move up from a Tiguan to the Toureg V6 TDI model with most options (incl Dynaudio) but knowing the MY15 has reduced drag and apparently improved features such as infotainment, Start Button on V6 models, better lights, grille styling etc., I am thinking wait for it to arrive.

My fleet buyer has been told VWA will reduce their discount from a % to fixed amount (much less) from June 1 so this means buy a MY14 for a better price or hope that MY15 is worth the extra cost.
If the fuel consumption has been reduced to 7L/100KM or less then the Luxury Tax cost should be less as the threshold shifts from $60K to $75K, this is what Porsche have acheived with the Macan, so my guess is that VW will reach it, at least with the V6 TDI & 150 models.

As for when the production line changes to MY15, this is unknown but I am told a 4 month wait for a factory order so if Aust is to get the MY15 later this year, then I suspect an order around August could be for the newer model.
Anyone wish to comment or add to this as I only have until Friday to get an order in to meet the discount deadline. Seems VWA has had management changes at the top and becoming more retail orientated rather than fleet, perhaps to poor past management.

What discounts on Touaregs has been achieved by any factory order purchase, anyone care to reveal?

Spoke to one dealer today and he indicated the MY15 wouldn't be released for some time yet as there were significant numbers of the MY14.5 vehicles still in the dealer and VWA stock.

You may find there are "drive-away" discounts to clear these closer to when the MY15 model comes out.

That's interesting to hear, thanks. I haven't received the tenders yet so I may shop around as well but no doubt my spec will be a factory order. There is a current discount on the 150kw model and I have seen 3 Touareg vehicles at dealers but in the end it will be how much discount I can get versus what's in stock, factory orders seem not to gain big discounts.

You may also find that factory orders for MY14.5 are closed and that you only have access to vehicles which are already in Australia.

I believe it may only be possible to factory order MY15 cars now (which VWA hasn't made specs/details available to dealers), but am happy to be proved wrong. We're into week 22 now and this is when MY15 build starts for VW.

Getting the fuel consumption under 7l/100km is going to be a tough ask given that a lot of weight savings went into reducing the consumption figures in the current shape.

Tenders received and only one dealer has quoted for MY15 which I trust is the facelifted model. This quote is the cheapest and with just about everything on it bar the sports pack is a little bit over the 90K level and the taxes & SD make up close to $20K absurd for this vehicle really. The fuel consumption I am told does not fall into the concessionary green luxury tax bracket . Aparently the new corp deal may include capped servicing, not sure precisely but will face a lesser discount taking it over 95K. Not sure how a dealer can quote when prices are not released either. This is a big decision to make as there is so much out there in the market at this price bracket but I can't go past the interior and new styling of the MY15 compared to the Cayenne or Q7 but then I see the next model Tiguan may offer a 7 seater which is longer than the Touareg. By next year all these models will be out and can be compared. 4 Month factory wait confirmed as well. I might learn more tomorrow but I feel if the MY15 model can't be ordered just yet then surely a MY14.5 at a good price should around for a while, as stocks are offloaded. The German factories week 22 has arrived yes but when the Slovakian factory changeover who knows, do they make the Porsche/VW/Audi at different times or in parallel I wonder?

Patience my friend. Of course if you have a car to drive.
I'm in the market for a new bigger van and the current VW Crafter is a very overprized, luck on features and one noisy van compared to MB Sprinter and other offerings.
You're right about the Cayenne its interior is much nicer place to be and I believe it would drive better, also look at the new X5.

Patience is one of my strenghts, I usually keep vehicles too long but saying that when I go to order or purchase VWA stuff me up by dropping an option I longed for, change their pricing, or another make introduces new diesel engines (Volvo E-series). Eventually one has to decide, but as we are all told, the motoring market is a fast and furious place where changes happen often and we are made to wait forever on some models. Also when good deals are around you have to act fast, so know what you want.
The new RWD X5 is a worthy option if AWD is not necessary. As for Porsche being a nicer place to be in, that I guess is a personal liking and Audi all have their differing styles on a similar body. Hard decision when you add Volvo XC90 into the equation. At the end of the day, I have to be content with my purchase, fortunately they are all reasonable vehicles but overprized for what I want, I guess. Need confirmation still on MY15 model at this early stage.

Can confirm orders for MY15 are now being processed but not mine ....yet!
The new models will be rolling off the Prod Line shortly and will be available/demo models in 4/5 months. Would appreciate if VWA would release specs/exact changes and pricing so as to pinpoint an exact contract price. As for discount, I have had one Vic dealer confirm a good price is still possible on this Touareg. After all the likes of the Audi Q7 and Volvo/BMW are breathing down their necks in this section of the market.

New MY15 is in showrooms but the dealer had FA information for me to walk out with in paper form. Had a 180kw on floor with stated options but no sign of Dynaudio option or even panoramic sunroof. I get home and find VWA website still has old model Brochure as download, arrhhh !

Otherwise new model looks good but why no stop / start button, only key insertion on dash LHS of steering wheel same as old passat. Nappa Leather seats look good and styling at front much neater and fog lamps down low look much better styled.

VWA need a kick up the rear for taking sooooooo long with this model to Australian shores. NZ beat us again. Might have to look at the Macan or wait for major Touareg upgrade in 2-3 years.
