    Wheels for the VR6...help please

    hey guys,

I'm almost certain i will be heading up to the central coast to pick up my vr6 this weekend and i cant wait to get my hands on it. One issue is the current owner has lowered it by two inches on eibach springs and still kept the stock bbs 14inch wheels ,due to this it is a hassle to get the car in and out of driveways, steep declines etc etc....Could anyone please recommend some wheels for the vr6 preferably 16inch or 17inch the car is black...

p.s. need some opinions on white wheels for the vr6???

    thanks all
    Dom

It's not really a hassle on a 2" drop on the stock 15" VR6 wheels Just approach driveways, speedbumps, dead bodies etc. on an angle and you'll be fine.

It's hard to recommend wheels (colour included) though as it really depends on your taste. There's a thread on bringing in Rota wheels so you might want to check them out (www.rotawheels.com). Remember, you ain't dubbin' if you ain't rubbin' (or scrapin' )

Eibach springs don't lower the car by 2 inches... like an inch and a 1/2, or 38mm its not a dramatic drop, I have the kit. He's overstating the drop by 12mm, anyways as long as you don't drive like my mum going speeding to get into the driveway to beat the trafiic on a road who's angle is about 25' off from the driveway you should fine... Its quite a sight I must say, I take up both lanes entirely to take the golf in as slow as possible and as ray suggested earlier, take the bumps and driveways carefully and you should be fine

    Poor passat lol...

Black rims work fantastically well on alot of cars. The only requirement on black cars is to have rims with a sliver or chrome lip and to have a silver center. Notice all the wheels have that configuration, thats to break up the outline. I painted my rims black (they were previously silver) but left the chromed plastic center cap and the bolts were also chrome. a 5 or 6 spoke wheel would look fantastic on a black VR6.

White wheels don't realy work very well on black VR6's, maybe on a white car but I can't see where else, except in rather rare circumstances of course.

Also the colour contrast will draw too much attention away from the car, spoiling the look and drawing attention to the wheel and not the rest of the car.

I see alot of civics with massive white wheels and it looks horrible in my opinion.

Yeah, black wheels for the win basically... Go to a wheel shop and ask them to prop a wheel against your car, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Do you have a picture of the car? I can photoshop the wheels on to show you, hey Mickey do the same mate, i'll give your rims a virtual test run!
