    Filling the gap

Finally found an image on the net that has a problem that I will encounter very soon. As you can see below, there are small gaps on the left of the front wheel arch and the right of the rear wheel arch. This is what we get when removing our fender flares. Now does anyone know how to fix this? I've been seeing info here and there that CL trim is long enough to fill those gaps - is this correct?

Also, if sourcing CL trim is the fix, are there any textured ones? I believe there isn't because early models came with flares and textured mouldings while late models came without flares and rubber mouldings... but then how am I seeing various US golfs with textured mouldings all round (no flares) and no gaps.

Hope you guys understand and thanks in advance.

oh forgot to add - I've got a 1994 3 door, not sure if that changes anything.

no, you can get them, i snatched some mouldings from the wreckers but you do need the whole strip because they're thinner than the vr mouldings

if its a 3 door here wouldnt the engine have been swapped into a cl though, thus not even having them in the first place? or was it imported or something

yep, I bought it off a guy who imported it from SA. Got a pic somewhere in the "aus mk3 count" thread...

Does anyone know if the CL trim ever came textured? How do americans pull of the no flares but textured look :s

ah well there you go. The older cl's may have come with textured ones? idk if finding them for a two door is going to be all that easy over here though. Maybe theres some sort of textured paint you could use. Could always just colour code although yeah i like the textured strips.

Ahh so it was an import!

If you want textured side trim, CL and GL '94-'96 is what you're looking for.
