    ok what do you think it would cost for an auto elec 2 have a look? I'm afraid if i fork out the cash for a new alternator the same thing could happen if all the wiring is stuffed... I will measure the pulley on another car 2 moz. Worth taking it 2 get fixed properly? I would think so...but how much cash? Lol

    It'll be under a hundred bucks for them to take a look.

    Just bite the bullet dude.. Seriously. After they have a look they can tell you around about what it will cost you...

    it cost me 3 hundred to get my starter reconditioned it looks better than new they replaced everything works great

    it should cost you less than $200 to fix at an auto electrician

    get it done and save yourself a headache - you have a 2 to fix, maybe you can sell the other?

    $540 for a re furbed alternator... that was the problem... both were rooted.
