    To be fair, it's not really the same car that cost $1000. 2ltr swap, 5 stud swap, pretty sure it's all engineered as well.

    Shifter is about as sloppy as over cooked migoreng at the moment, will there be much of a difference in feel between a fully rebuild mk3 shifter with solid bushes for the cable ends and shifter bracket compared to dropping an mk4 shifter in?

    Can confirm a solid mount on the gearbox end is alot better. I have a b&m short shifter if you want to buy.

    used Kiwi shoe polish (sponge black liquid type) for the black exterior trim, very nice and it's relatively cheap too.

    If that doesn't last try a heat-gun finished with a couple of coats of forever black, literally lasts forever.

    we'll see, saw the heatgun method on youtube ages back but that's probably the last thing I'll try.
