MK3 muffler suggestions

Thanks for all the alternative suggestions!
But considering i'll probably need a new rear-muffler, of the 2 choices i have

2.25" in 4" out 17" total length
or
2.25 in 4" out 23 " total length

which one would be ideal for the MK3 1.8CL?

i thought the 23" might've been too long and and may stuff up the back-pressure, but considering the stock muffler is huge, i think it wouldnt be too bad eh? Any thoughts?
