Exclamation Ignition Problem - Not Starter, spark or fuel issue

Hi guys new here and first real post so please help me out!

Bought a 1997 Golf the other day and have since done a few mods that i will post up later

I now have a problem though Too put it bluntly it wont start with the key... I can apply power too the starter and it will start straight away but that's the only way (Could wire in a relay but would rather try too fix the problem properly first)

I don't have a manual or anything like that yet so i cant really go off fuses or relays,

From what I've read AUS imported 1997 Mk3 CL's (Manual) dont have immobilizers? so i don't really know where too start looking.

The only thing i can think may have done something is that I have replaced the stock radio, but I'm unsure if that would stop it from starting :S

The other thing i noticed is when pushing the car in neutral the radio will cut out until it stops moving :S

    Any Help would be amazing!

    Regards,
    Luke

Might be the ignition switch, search the forums for a DIY, there are 2 ways to fix it as i've done both. If you have an airbag ensure you use the correct procedure in disconnect/connecting.
