    Yeah it's all textured on mine, if i go colour coded i'll ditch the flares and get the smooth later model bumpers and side trims etc.

    ahh yeah ok, I was just about to suggest ditching the flares as well. Also consider smoothing and colour coding the trim, I'll be doing that in the future to my VR when I respray the front and back bumpers....

    Did later model VR have a smooth hatch spoiler as well?

    Well mines a 97', and its pretty much the same as my GL one a 98', but would still need a little sanding to get that really silky smooth finish.

    On the topic of hatches, did Australia ever get them without a standard spoiler? I know in the States (or Mexico), some of the basic models didn't come with a spoiler, and so their rear windscreen has no holes in it... very clean look if you're thinking of not running a spoiler.

    Nah we didnt get the 1.3 or 1.6 Mk3 with no rear spoiler. The cool thing is no holes and its a non-heated rear window so it looks extra clean.
