Looking good Dylan, cant wait to see it come together im hoping to get mine soon and slowly start with mine ive got the VR lined up for the donor if i dont put all my stuff into it.

When do you think you'll have it all up and running with the engine sorted and in there?

Plan was to have a lot done over the holidays, however being sick, missing the package drop off and then working 6 days straight meant nothing got done, AGAIN!

However, this just arrived.

Hopefully will be getting my trusty local welder to throw some reinforcement on the clutch fork to strengthen it to suit to heavy duty clutch as I believe the car has snapped two since having it installed.

Gave the front seats some loving, not perfect, but will do the trick.
Now just waiting on some money to get a waterpump and a few other bits and itll be under way.

Not perfect by anymeans, but they will do.

I noticed my original Vento seats have two leavers on the side, and off the top of my head the the VR only have one.
Whats the difference? Worth swapping the bases over?

Started poking around the Vento again.
pulled the dash, wipers, ECU, Cluster to start investigating the wiring.
The hands free setup and after market immobiliser, while looking professionally installed, have made a mess. Cant even work out whats doing what. Hopefully dont need to keep any of those bits and the VR wiring behind the dash is a bit more original.

It's always a laugh to find those sorts of surprises.

I had the radio and everything out of our old MK4 Golf once, and found a $5 note, and a whole heap of cards from a previous owner. Some included security clearance cards to a couple of Navy bases.

wow, NAVY cards are pretty impressive!
I have a swap card for something, but not sure what.
was so much rubbish in the car when I got it, owner clearly didnt intend of parting with it when he left it at the mechanics

not much of an update.

Picked up a second VR head with only 80,000km or so, R32 sump and oil pickup and engine covers from Bens part out

Had a mate getting his cleaned up too, so went through the process together.
Hot tanked
skimmed
new exhaust valve guides
valves sand blasted
valves cut
seats cut to match

1 of the 2 VR heads after seats cut.
