Plus the extra time gives you 3 months to get it all in tip-top condition for euro meets and happy laps.
Or you could always get the gf to drive you to euro meet![]()
That is quite true. I'll admit I probaby do often get just a little over the speed limit and may occasionally push the accelerator instead of the brake when a light turns yellow, probably have been lucky to have made it the 2 and a bit years I've been on the p-plates with no real driving offences. 3 months isnt a long time and the girlfriend and roommates are always happy enough to drive me around, so yeah. Will probably do that.

Or vr time!
She cant (legally) drive manual and is only on 1 point so she probably wont drive my car there, can always see if a friend or something can though. Guess ill have to enjoy driving while I can for the next little bit until the suspension is started

Haha trust me if I had the money I'd do the swap, but I want to do it right the first time and build an absolute beast out of the thing (considering I have it apart in pieces anyway) and am considering going to 3.0L, big cams, big super charger, everythingCould be a long time off though, am considering saving for a trip to europe or something instead while im still young

im trying to save for europe as well, and building a car is not the easiest thing cause you can never actual budget for it.
All these people have got me doubting whether 1 point for 1 year is the right decision
If your doing that Ben, make it a syncro/haldex.
honestly if I want to build something really fast, I might not spend a cent on a beastly motor for this, and build a track spec e30 or something rwd, I love this car and all and might keep it as a daily driver for a long time, but could probably make something much faster for much less coin that would actually corner properly and not be a complete handful like a 500hp fwd golfAlthough if that were the case, then I'd still like to swap in a pretty mild NA VR6 to this one to give it a bit more of a bark and overtaking power. Basically, I have no idea what I want to do in that area yet, but its going to be a fair while before I have that sort of money.
Yeah i think im going to make something jap for the track and just have my vr as my nice car its the way to go! building something rwd thats jap is so dam cheap and easy to get big power compared to euro stuff but the Euro stuff is so much nicer and i love my VR
