Best golf ever made was without doubt the Mk2 Gti. Having previously owned a hot Mk1, which was a great little car I still have to say the Mk2 is even better.

The Mk2 was more civilised and looked more purposeful. Fitted with a few extra creature comforts, better seats, appearance and cosmetics it will always remain the ultimate collectable Golf in my opinion. I was restoring a 'dream' Mk2 GTi for a friend but as the cash has run out the car has got to go. If you would like to see photos of this near complete resto, with some great extras, then go to page 3 of the classifieds to view what would be arguably the best value MK2 GTi available.

arguably being the salient word...

People like different cars for different reasons the mark2 is heavier, slower and doesn't handle as well as a mk1 one. Mk1 is a true drivers cars. MK2 is for the well, the more reserved type of driver who rates creature comforts higher than driveability !
