Yeah that was a spammer. They're evolving!
ok call me paranoid, but is it me or are spammers using a new tactic with forums ie , posting questions and having them answered with a answer that includes the product that they are advertising?
Yeah that was a spammer. They're evolving!
getting a bit common - check the post "error fix"...typical of the type
Yeah it was obviously a spammer and I reported it as such. No matter what their tactics, they're easy to spot.
They're easy to spot yes, but the CAPTCHA system should be preventing the registrations (I can't imagine they're bothering to register two accounts manually, filling in all the details, etc). Maybe the CAPTCHA method needs updating (I believe the older CAPTCHA methods are now beatable by some automated systems - is the CAPTCHA component in vBulletin updatable?

Nothing to see here...
version 3.6.7 (whicih is what VWwA runs on) is an older version so it's possible it's CAPTCHA system isn't the latest and greatest any more.
Is post # 8 an example of spam ?
Edit - I guess it was, and got dealt with by a mod![]()

Spam is really becoming a large problem, i was testing out a forum script on my test server which is live on the net and within hours i have 3 or 4 spam bots on the forum... i was reading online about how there are companies in 3rd world countries which pay people to sit online filling out CAPTCHA questions all day.
