When I left he was about to check timing to see if anything slipped. Next was to remove rocker cover. Haven"t heard from him today

Followup is that timing appears to be correct but compression test showed no compression on any cylinder. This has got him confused so at the moment they are about to remove the head to have a look inside motor

Motor destroyed. Dropped a valve and bits all through motor. Block damaged beyond repair. Anyone know of a replacement motor? 2.5l diesel.

In my opinion this is extremely rare. I have been a member of the T4 Forum for 10 years that has over 151,000 members, mostly with the 2.5TDI engine & I can't remember anyone ever posting with a dropped valve.

Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

Valve stem broke just behind the head. This got belted around and chewed metal off everything. I have a low k motor on its way to replace mine.

Sounds more like a stripped spitzl bolt thread in the flux capacitor........ Possibly the quadrionic plasma condenser got taken out too.The spanner they left inside it?
