oh really? what does it do to the parts? does it increase corrosion or something? would a ceramic coating be preferable?

Yeah dose increase corrosion and the ceramic coat is better as it still lets the metal breath
I don't see corrosion going to be a problem on a cast manifold. It might not last forever though. Ceramic coating would be permanent though.
I have seen comments recently that wrapping and ceramic coatings have caused manifolds to crack due to the heat being retained. You can't win? :facepalm:

Had some spare time today so i decided to fix the boonet release cable which had been getting worse ever since I installed the wideband. After spending an hour taking trim off and removing the windscreen cowling i discovered the cable had simply come off it's clip. What was really fustrating was that i could have accessed it without even taking anything apart :facepalm:. Then I got bored so I decided to do some sticker bombing
