Weird juddering at standstill on 118 TSI wagon

I was driving my wife's passat at the weekend and a couple of times while stationary I noticed a strange mild juddering sensation which only lasted a couple of seconds. The car has also randomly been making an electrical whirring noise from the rear both whilst stationary and on the move. The noise is different to that made by the electric park brake. On one occasion the car juddered whilst making the electrical sound. The electrical sound lasts for five to ten seconds. I am wondering if it is fuel pump related. Has anyone got any ideas?

The car is an my 12.5 and has only covered 5500 Kms.

    Thanks

    Are you completely stationary?

Mine was juddering as the DSG clutch started to bite.. New clutch pack fixed that issue on my 118tsi.

Idle speed did not drop and we were completely stationary. The electrical sound from the rear was not unlike the priming noise you hear when opening the drivers door for the first time after the car has been parked up.

I wonder if vagcom will have logged a fault.

I thought I should update this thread. My wife's 2012 my12.5 118 tsi wagon continued to exhibit the characteristics described in my first post. It then started to stall after long runs. The garage can find no faults via vcds. They replaced the fuel pump but were not confident they had fixed the issue. We took the car down to Byron bay yesterday and it was up to its old tricks again. The car juddered/pulsed whilst completely stationary, made the electrical whirring sound from the rear and stalled. Back to the dealers tomorrow and they can keep it until they fix it. The problem seems more prevalent when temperatures are high.

In its short life from February 2012 and 26000 kms it has had a new clutch pack; abs control module; a part from the electric tailgate mechanism replaced and a new fuel pump. Worst VW I have had out of the dozen or so new ones I have had over the years.

My own 2011 manual golf gti has been realatively painless by comparison.

I would be very concerned keeping the passat out of warranty. Sadly it might be time to turn to the Japanese or Koreans.

Has anyone on here with the 118tsi engine experienced anything remotely similar? The car has always been fuelled with VPower.

About 2 months ago we started getting the same sound (118 MY11), and it is especially noticeable during hot days.
It got the same sound and when you open the driver door, but it comes and go every pew minutes for around 3 seconds each time.
The VW couldn't found anything, I'm just doing to drive to them and get them to experience the sound, don't know if it from the fuel pump, since it is working fine.

So far that car didn't met my anticipation

Car is in garage. Fuel pump control unit has now been replaced and further checks being carried out.
