I would like to monitor the soot loading of the DPF in my 08 TDI from time to time rather than relying on the warning light.

I have read that a VCDS is required. I wonder if I can find a cheap cable in eBay that will allow me to do that. I just want to found the soot loading % to make sure it won't build up too much. I have no intention to do any force regen or anything more than getting the reading with it.
