I just got off the phone with my dealer, and he reckons my car will be built in Week 16...meaning a June delivery which is all good and well.
However, I've noticed some of you have been given week 15 build weeks even though you placed the order a good 6 months after mine...
Could you guys please re-confirm your build weeks as they may have changed, otherwise my dealer will have a lot of explaining to do...
On the insurance side of things mine came in at 2k, a bit steep considering my age, max NCB, garaged area, and non forced induction engine however it came in under the $2200 I budgeted so I'm happy![]()
Confirmed Global Warming Sceptic. No Longer a VW Owner -Loving my new 2011 Range Rover Sport - bought as VW unable to provide info on the new Toureg despite it being released overseas 12 mths ago. 2008 R36 Wagon, 2006 GTI and 2004 R32 - Gone. Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers
has anyone else has their build week confirmed?
Nope.
I'm going to the dealer some time this week (Monday, I reckon) to change my order yet again... I've convinced myself to spring for the Dynaudio package.
I'll find out more about build weeks and so on when I'm there...

So I just went to the Volkswagen Germany site and found this:
http://www.volkswagen.de/vwcms_publi...anten/R36.html
Interesting how the seats look slightly different...
Anyway, they have a website that is miles ahead of the Australian one and have a configurator. Looks like we're getting shafted with colours here... the red R36 looks pretty hot
Interesting to see the options we don't have here.

That is an awesome find
I've got some of the finer tech details not previously known translated using google translator:
-- Acceleration of 0-80/0-100 km / h:
3.8 / 5.6-(4.0 / 5.8 s) 1
-- Emission class: Euro 4 2
Empty weight: 1689 (1747) 1
Perm. Total weight: 2270 kg (2350 kg) 1
Payload: 581 kg (603 kg) 1
Perm. Axle front / rear: 1170 kg/1150 kg (1230 kg) 1
Perm. Load / perm. Roof load: 85 kg/100 kg
-- Maximum speed: 250 km / h
-- 3597
-- Fuel consumption, 1 / 100 km/CO2-Emission, g / km
(According to the currently valid version of the EU
80/1268/EEC determined): Super petrol
Lead, or at least 95 RON unleaded Superplus
Inner town: 14.7
Except place: 8.1
Combined: 10.5
CO2 emissions, g / km combined: 249
-- Maximum torque, Nm at 1/min: 350/2400-5300
-- Maximum power, kW (PS) at 1/min: 220 (300) / 6600
-- Sports suspension, body approximately 25 mm lowered
Waiting for the R36 has just been made worthwhile in my books...some of the big benefits I see are:
Torque is available for quite some time, whilst much lower the torque spread is almost like my old XR6Turbo
0-80 in 3.8
Ability to use 95 ron fuel when 98 is unavailable, and decent consumption figures
Ability to load upto 85kg on the roof (great for roof pods)
Weight distribution in a fully loaded car is almost perfect, great for the country roads on trips away or when towing.
All I want to know is the comp ratio of the engine hehe
My German is a bit rusty (actually non-existant)......on page 9 just above the wheel caption, does it say optional 19" mags?![]()
It does, but I can't find a photo of them (at least I couldn't within 30 seconds). They're 19 inch Ausführung wheels... whatever they are!
