just as well I snapped this then! Of course the MY14.5.5 will have the updated body, but those of you familiar with flux capcitors will recognise the symbol where the VW badge normally is, indicating that this is the prototype PAssat FC test unit. Hope this clears it up for everyone

    ahhhh the depression sets in....

Your Passat appears to be a MY12. The only difference is the following:

    Passat

    • Cashmere Brown Metallic (6R6R) exterior paint colour has been discontinued

    • Mocca Anthracite Pearl Effect (3Q3Q) exterior paint colour has been discontinued

    • New colour: Autumn Brown Metallic (7S7S) exterior paint colour is now available

    (Reference: Passat CC colour)

    • New colour: Black Oak Brown Metallic (P0P0) exterior paint colour is now available

    (Reference: Eos colour)

    • The 125TDI Highline is now equipped with Coasting Function

    • All Passat Wagon models are now equipped with a LED rear number plate light

Yeah, nutting about the HVAC on their internal doco, I sent some pictures and asked them to check by looking inside... (i will probably have picked up the car by then tho....)

Just got my hands on an intermediate copy of the Passat brochure... it has some of the markup typsetting marks on it and is dated 14/12/11 5pm. Google for PDF with the filename 142096 Passat Brochure _0.pdf

It has, the new MY12.5 colours with the deletes removed, has the sportspack in it with the Vicenza wheels gettin a showing, but all the HVAC climatronic controls are still the old ones.

The brochure that you can download from VWA itself is still the october one called 133772-passat--final.pdf

interestingly, I can only see images of the Highline models in MY12.5 to have the different HVAC controls.
All the images of the 118 (12.5) seem to have the black monoblock HVAC controls.

perhaps its a new point of difference?

    Nice comeback clip..........

FSI, don't be depressed mate.... I am quite sure not having the updated HVAC will be the last thing on your mind when you get behind the wheel, get snug in the sport seat, secure the belt & start that V6 up. I am more than confident you will be lov'in it.

One point, the feeling of the accelerator if moving away slowish feels like the clutch is slipping. Obviously it isn't but it is a weird feeling initially however, plant the foot a bit & as I have said before things get a bit brutal in an awesome but controlled way. Load her up on the brake & it jumps like a scaldered cat......
