How much is the R36 worth?

Hi guys, I went to check this R36 today. (in the market for one for a while already)
    2010 Volkswagen Passat Type 3C R36 MY10.5 Direct-Shift Gearbox 4-Motion

    It's a Dec 2009 build and Feb 2010 compliance, not sure if it's a MY10.5

This car is currently driven by a mum with a kid at least. Interior is in great condition and had driver seat base replaced under warranty. 60k major service done and has fairly new types. Rego due 2 March 2014.

    A few issues:
1, driver side rear wheel arch has a dent, paint is fine but the location is hard to reach by paintless dent removal unless they can use the suction pad to pull out.
also passenger side rear door has a dent but that's an easy fix by dent removal

2, bottom side of the font lip has scratches and scuff but you wont tell from standing, have to see from underneath.
also both side skirts have scratches and scuffs at the bottom side.

3, all four wheels have kurb rush. need to get wheel man to air brush.

4, passenger side door bottom edge end has scuff mark(the plastics strip)

5, car has security interests on it

    what do you guys think?

Re 5, it's all good do long as the sale price covers the finance payout figure. If shortfall then seller would need to cover.
If under asking price then you would cut two cheques (or EFT transaction) one to finance co and if surplus remaining to seller.
If a short fall, the make sure they cover thee part before you hand over money. Get he much is owed in writing by their financial co.

All else is cosmetic and depends on how bad and how neg they were, but tbh 42k is a lot.

Thanks for sharing what you think.

    Yes, 42k is a lot.

I am looking for 2009-2010 R36 wagon with low kms.
Currently only 3 in Australia, 2 of them are in VIC and this is the only one in NSW.

    those two in VIC:
one is silver with 34k asking for $42500
one is black with 51k asking for $42700 neo

but they've been listed for a while and still not sold yet

    maybe I should wait...

My gut feeling is telling me that the price is a little high but see how you go with negotiations mate. I just bought my 08 on Chrissy eve and have loved every second of driving it since. They are truly wonderful cars and the wagon has come in handy about 4 times already!! If you decide to go ahead, just be wary of the finance issue and the other stuff can be fixed, although I note your issue regarding the wheel arch!! Maybe good grounds for negotiations. Good luck mate.
