Hi there, I think my car was on the same boat and has also been quarantined. It docked in Melbourne 2 May and has been quarantined ever since - for sead or something. Dealer wont give me an estimated delivery date ... can't say I'm too happy with being given an 'indefinite' delay.

Those of you who also haven't had their cars delivered on time, have your dealers done anything to compensate for the delay? Or have they, like mine, just said 'too bad'?

All I can say is .....I want my car now!!!

Ordered Mid March, Queensland. I have to admit I'm skeptical of 15th June...

My dealer has given me a loan car as it has passed the 16 week deliver date specified. It was something I asked about when I signed up for the car as I had to sell my previous car privately before taking possession of my R36.

I know what you mean by just wanting your car now!!! A few weeks ago, I was suffering from the "it's taking too long perhaps I should try and cancel order" to now "I can't wait to get this thing!!!". The closer it gets to taking delivery the more impatient (excited) I am!!

I went to https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage put the VIN number into cargo ID, and bingo! It's currently sailing down the East Coast of the USA, heads into the Panama Canal on Monday, over the big creek to NZ in early June, and scheduled to dock in Brisbane on the 16th June. From there the dealer has told me 10 - 15 working days to delivery. Woohoo!

    Worth the wait

Dear all, whatever you do, don't cancel the order. When it arrives, it will be worth the wait. There is so much to discover and learn about how to get the most out of it that you will enjoy it for years to come. I ordered mine in October last year and received it on December 1 08. Supposedly an 09 build. It makes me feel good every day and I enjoy going to work and coming home even more. I too will keep it for 2 cycles (6 years) unless I bend it badly. Love that car!!

It's a MY09 with a build date of December 2008. 2009 is already just about half over so I can't see the point in waiting MONTHS for a build date that in the long term isn't going to overly affect resale. I plan on keeping the car at least 5 years.
Like Rocket I was lucky enough to get my R36 rather quickly.. This was only due to the cancellation of the Brisbane Motor Show and buying the show car.. MY09 Dec 08 build...

It is worth the wait.. and from my experience you do not want to put pressure on the pre delivery as you will find you will have to go back for something they missed...

Though I only intend to hold onto mine for 3 years and before the first major service is due at 60,000km.

Ordered mine 10 days ago, supposed to be a Brisbane one delivered within 2 weeks now it's coming from NSW so due next week I'm hoping.

Rocket - Unfortunately for us Northerners Qld rego goes on build date, not registration date, so most of the MY09 ones being delivered now are Dec 08 build and therefore (in Qld) an 08 vehicle (sucks fro resale down the track), I'm guessing it's not the same elsewhere? oh well...

R36Driver - I was told by a VW salesman that the 60k service will set me back over 2k can anyone confirm?

Same in NSW and everywhere else I think. Registration goes in build date.
