Yes, there is definitely more vibration with poly bushes. I'm probably going to remove my red (softest) Powerflex bush and fit a metal item instead. Feels great, but there is certainly more vibration as a whole.

Further to this, I was inspired to remove the Powerflex bush last night and install the metal insert that I've had lying around for a while. It was a 15 minute job and the poly bush slid straight out without breaking.

The metal insert has significantly lowered vibration levels. Happy days! Let's see how long this $12 aliexpress insert lasts!

Wow im surprised the old poly bush came out without ripping!! I have installed and removed several on the Mk5/Mk6 Golf platform and every one of them has become hard with heat cycles and then ripped/broken when ive removed them. Perhaps the design of the Mk7/MQB subframe is kinder on the poly bushes.

Good to hear that the vibration is lower with the metal insert. See if you notice any different (better or worse) in performance, probably not.

I'm probably lucky that I don't do all that much driving - probably only 3,500km in the 16 or so weeks that I had the Powerflex installed. A few heat cycles no doubt, but it could be a different story after a year or two!

The metal insert is not as tight-feeling, that's for sure - there is more movement and flex in the engine/gearbox assembly relative to the chassis and crossmember. Nothing too terrible, but its there.

The reduced vibration is worth it though.

A little update - the metal insert has been removed and I modified the poly bush by shortening it by a little more than half of the original "depth".

The result is no vibration on startup, creeping forward and reversing. During normal driving, it also feels great - tighter overall than the metal insert, but less NVH.

    I'm finally a happy man!

Pete - this is great! Thank you.

I was planning on buying the 034 upper and lower mount kit but it was a bit exxy for my liking.

May give the el-cheapo from ali express try first and along with your mod.

So, just to confirm you've taken the top bit off by 50% or so?

The aliexpress inserts are dirt cheap at circa $12 landed for the alloy insert only.

The modded poly bush isn't exactly cheap - it was about $120 landed from the UK. Still, it's cheaper than the full 034 kit.

Given that the poly insert had already been in the car for a few months, there were black marks where the poly and OEM rubber bushes were interfacing. This made it pretty easy to know where to trim. There will be a larger element of guesswork without those wear marks.

"Wear" is probably the wrong term, as there was no physical wear - just a transfer of colour.

Here are some pics showing the wear marks and I essentially went straight down the middle!

Hi all and thank you for your help so far.

Bit of an update after 6 weeks of ownership. The vehicle has gone back to the dealer to rectify the leaking bevel/transfer case and replace the start/stop button. I ended up taking the vehicle to A1 Autohaus, Ryde and the owner Adam was great to deal with. He was able to pick up a few areas of concerns including DSG clunking likely to be attributable due to both transmission and engine failing and asked me to monitor a additional few things.

I must admit I am on fence with Exoticars's workmanship after my recent experience and don't think I will be going back, A leak in transfer should have been picked as part of scheduled inspection and minor service. I don't know if the inspection was even conducted while the vehicle was on the hoist. DSG swaying/clunking was seen as "normal". To his credit, Arthur was quick to get me in the next day to have a look over the leak but this could be avoided in the first instance. I am hoping to get A1 autohaus to do the transmission/engine mounts along with PF red inserts when the inserts get delivered.

Looking at a few transmission mount, and stumbled across RSQ3 mount numbered 5QA199555F (
Audi RSQ3 Engine Gearbox Mount Left Side 5QA199555F
    – VDL Adelaide Spare Parts Store
) which resembles quite closely to OEM replacement 5QA199555G which also has been superseded by 5QA199555AM.

Some Russian based forums "drive2.Ru" (can't provide links due to work restriction) have swapped the G variant for F variant in diesel and the consensus seems to be less vibration and better feel. Given the 294kw on tap with these RSQ3, i think the F variant would be a good upgrade over the G variants being a oil filled mounts as compared to rubber mounts.

Engine mounts appear to be different and does not seem to be interchangeable.

Any steer would be much appreciated.

That looks to be the wrong transmission mount, missing the top mounting 'wings' that the battery tray bolts onto (EDIT: Although I could be completely wrong on that front - Tiguan battery mounting may be different to the MQB Golf Mk7 and Passat B8 )

I replaced the engine and gearbox mounts in my MY18 Passat last year, and these are the "hydraulically damped" versions that are found in the Passat from the factory.

Both of the mounts shown below were about $250 landed for the pair from Aliexpress. I have since replaced the engine mount with a Meyle mount as I wasn't happy with the NVH of the replacement - it seemed that the hydraulic damping was not properly filled from the factory and it was underdamped. Thankfully the Meyle unit was available locally for under $100.

    See pics below.

    Hi Pete, thanks for this.

Based on the VIN number, this part seems to be the correct one without the "wing" design, although it is sourced from the Tiguan, Diesel variant.

To be noted, 2023 Tiguan R has the wing design and I was hoping that would be the correct fit but apparently they are different.
Engine mounts are the same with both of them numbered 3Q0199262C.

How did you find the install? And whether any special equipment is required other than the usual jack stands? May I know where you were able to source the MEYLE parts?

It seems like oil filled ones are more suitable for high torque engines including Tiguan R and RSQ3.

    Thanks again.
