For the Tiguan Highline 162TSI with DAP, is it worth it to get the R-line package for an extra $4k ?

Worth.
Only you can decide that. I wouldn’t buy a new Tiguan that doesn’t have the R-Line pack because I prefer the look. But some your preferences may differ, that’s why I say only you can decide. Perhaps if you were to provide some other factors than ‘worth’, it might be possible to provide some real feedback.

Wow, that does look quite different. R Line is very worth it depending on budget. Only thing I don't like is the car appears to have less ground clearance. For me an SUV should have higher ground clearance. I still wish they had an adventure model with DAP when I was negotiating.
Saying that, for those who have the budget, go for the R line.
VW Tiguan 2018 162TSI Highline
VW Polo 2015 81TSI Comfortline
Both listed as 201cm but the colour coded lower panels give the impression of it being lower.
Indium Grey Golf 7.5 Alltrack 135tdi Premium - all options
In the VW Tiguan catalog, it has under the 'R-line package'
"Rear bumper with sports diffuser in gloss black" - Optional (for Highline)
Has anyone bought this optional extra with their R-line package ?
If so, how much did you pay and does it look any good ?

It does look a bit plain, agree. R Line makes it look very nice.
However we budgeted for a comfortline but extended to a highline, so for us the R line was a bit out of reach, especially since I made a deal with the misus if we keep costs down, I can replace the VW Polo with a car I like in about 3 years time.
