MY16 MK7 VW Golf 92TSI Comfortline with DAP2
All,
I am experiencing a low speed noise on my VW Golf MK7 MY16 (3 months old), the noise is like 'grug grug grug' and it comes for about 1-2 second at low speed between 4-8km/h and sometimes at 24-28km/hour. I noticed that it happens when not in changing gear.
The interesting about this noise is it only came after the car is warm / normal operating temperature i.e. after I drive for how about 30-45 minutes or more.
Anyone experiencing this or similar issue before?

My partner just got her Golf Mk7 Trendline with DAP in Pacific Blue. I convinced her to get the Golf instead of a Corolla and I gifted her for the upgrade to Trendline with DAP
I've been reading a lot of forum posts here and other sites and have a few questions and thoughts about the car.
Thoughts:
- Start off by saying it's a very nice car, love the features and built quality, mostly. But I'm glad she got it instead of the Corolla.
- The seat material look and feel very cheap. I'm not a fan.
- Bit disappointed with the lack of features that are available on the Euro versions, no folding mirrors, paddle shift, voice, electric seats. I'm not sure these were ever standard on Euro spec, but for the price I wish/expected them. My 15yo Lexus has most of these features!
- She's hating the stop-start and not being able to turn it off permanently. I know I can get a VAG/VCDS cable but scared I'll press the wrong button and kill her brand new car. If it was my car it would be a different story.
- I've ordered accessories for it already! Boot liner, dashmat, led interior lights, exhaust tips...
Questions:
- Was the car supposed to come with the sunglasses holder near the rear view mirror? She doesn't seem to have one. Is there a trick to opening it? I thought it was spring loaded and just needed to be pressed in? I was so sure there was one in the test drive car.
- Do I have to get the expensive VCDS ross-tech cables or will the cheap ones off the internet work just fine? I'm thinking of tinkering with the car (turn off stop-start) in the future if I can convince my partner to let me.
- How easy is it to kill the car using the cable?
- Can I use carplay or android auto AND use bluetooth at the same time? My partner has a Windows phone but I want to install a cheap phone, maybe a iPhone 5c or a cheap android and use a shared data only plan sim and use it for navigation and music. Can she make/receive calls on her phone using bluetooth AND use app connect at the same time?

If you're wanting to read very basic OBD functions then the eBay cables will do fine. If you're wanting to code modules / make settings changes, there's really no substitute for VCDS - it's a top product. If you're only likely to use it once or a handful of times, just contact a fellow forum member who will be happy to code your car for you in exchange for a 6-pack. See here: VAG-COM scanning, who can help
If you are extremely careless/reckless with making changes, then yes, you can do damage to modules, and potentially render the car undriveable - technically it's possible. Like anything, if you apply due care and follow instructions slowly and carefully, you will be fine.
You'll want to ask those questions here (there are a few threads on related subjects in that forum): VW Car Audio and Electronics

Hey guys. Getting really confused in terms of what model to choose for the new car !
Have driven both and had a 81tsi on order last year and have owned a 77tsi with sports pack in the past which I loved. Though with the 2.8% deal they are running at the moment I had a drive of the 92tsi and it's pretty on par minus a few features but the size is amaze.
The thing that gets me is the Polo chassis (though good) is 6 years old where is the MQB platform is much newer .. Opinions welcome !
Previous VW; 6n3 Polo 16v, MkIII VR6
Current; 9n3 Polo GTI
I love Polo but for no tangible reason I'd prefer the German build of Golf and the newer platform over the South African build of Polo and its much older platform... Polo is still lovely though and you get a lot for your money.
