theres ingnorence for ya! have a nice B5 Passat but doesn't have a clue that there is a sequence to almost everything B1, B2, B3 etc etc.... now my Audi is an Audi 80/fox and it's a B1 and the passat is also a B1, the passat/dasher used the audi platform and created there own version of the car.......
