I have only seen 2 other Skodas over the last three months .
One being my sister's octavia flashng lights, going the other way.
The other a a dark coloured Scout which appeared in my rear view mirror on the shortcut through Bankstown Airport 2 days ago.
I used to quite regularly see various model Skodas on the roads around my area. I put this down to the new VAG HQ for VW-Skoda-Audi, which was originally only badged Skoda, being not far away. There used to be Skodas around that facility at Chullora all the time, but I have not seen one for months. It seems the group is not wanting to promote Skoda through corporate or employee car visibility theses days. Only VWs appear around the joint now. One gets the feeling there's been a corporate group decision to throw weight behind VW. Someone else might know the rationale for this. Maybe VW numbers need boosting, or the burgamasters think Skoda brand can sink or swim on it's own.
For the life of me, I still don't understand VW groups marketing strategy. It seems to me it's main competitor must be itself, given nearly every VW & Skoda model shares a twin with the other badge.
As far as educating the uninitiated goes, tell them it's like an Audi; better engineered & more reliable than a VW!
