I'll be waxing mine. I think its therapeutic. But this product would be great if I didn't have covered parking at work and home, or if I didn't enjoy the car washing.

I just think that people come on here to get information and to help others. If you are not making a contribution based on experience or knowledge and you aren't trying to help then you should stay out of things. Comments like that are snipes and don't add to the knowledge base.

I'd suggest you look at your own post to Antiplastix regading sniping.

If posts that don't add to the knowledge base were deleted form this forum (any forum) then about 50% of the members would be redundant.

If I had a dollar for every person that's posted about some amazing new product they've bought that has transformed their vehicle (Hiclone, Nulon additive, earthing kits, oils that are $80/L, electric superchargers, various air filters, waxes, coatings, sealants, etc) and dozens jump on the bandwagon only to not experience the same level of improvement then I'd be a much richer person. There's nothing wrong with having a few sceptics to offset those that "want to believe"

Brad you forgot the Fitch Fuel Catalyst. How many people jumped on that band wagon, paid their money then were too embarrassed to say they d been scammed.
Mercedes and other high end automobile makers are keen to embrace new proven technology and adopt it on their flagships years before it becomes available on other vehicles. I don't see any manufacturer spruiking this technology. Maybe their cars don't travel at 800 km/h at 40,000 ft. in -40 C temps. and spend the rest of their time sitting on a tarmac runway.
But like I said before, its your money spend it how you like.

I am pro Opti-Coat as I have had two cars that had that and at the end of my ownership (about 5-6 years each and parked on the side of the street and in industrial car parks), the cars were easy to wash (and I did not wash that often, once every month if not 2 months), I did not wax but the paint maintained it's colour and water would bead on it.

I know there will be people who would be skeptical on these kind of products, however, car dealers / manufacturers are here to make a profit, that means they do not have to put something like Opti-Coat on to their cars even if it was proven to be an effective product. They can earn the commission (something like "Mercedes recommends such and such products" or sell it as a care package as part of the car sales.

Besides, if it costs a few hundreds dollars to coat a car, imagine the production cost and the eventual sell price that the customer pay? A $60k Mercedes may become RRP $70k, how would the customers react to that? Bear in mind that not many people would drill into the specs of the car, but they look at the price first.

I am not sure about Mercedes, but how many cars would be built with the darkest legal tint that would block UV and protect the occupants? Tinting has been a proven technology that would reduce the occupants' exposure to harmful UV rays right? Especially for Australia? Why don't the car manufacturers apply to every single vehicles that is being sold here?

If Mercedes was buying nanotechnology coats to add to their cars, they wouldn t be paying more than $50 per/car, insignificant on a $215,000 car, if its going to improve its appearance.
As for the window tint argument, are you aware that in a lot of Middle East and African countries "window tint" is illegal. Much easier to provide the vehicle without tint and let aftermarket deal with it, where it is legal.

Opticoat is one of the better products. Have had it on my Scirocco for about 18months. Water still beads off effortlessly, and the paint really shines when clean. Brilliant product, and I got mine done cheap with a paint correction.

First day of opticoat that it has rained. Drove through downpour then drizzled rain in Brisbane today for about 3/4 of an hour. Drive into my garage and the car looks freshly washed. Love this product.

Spoke at length to the carcareproducts guys at motorclassica recently and they were very keen to push the Gyeon product. I will be trying it shortly, because I want to not because I have to. Currently using Final Inspection Full Metal Jacket and 22ple VX1pro and very happy with both. It is still all in the prep, and I'd describe myself as a very advanced amateur.

Lol. Well guess who was pushing the gyeon onto me!! Carcare products guy. Anyone suspect they're getting commission from gyeon!!! Particularly after I went in specifically to buy Nanolex and he did everything he could to try to convince me the gyeon was THE product.
