New Octavia ....when? How Much?

Bit more info:

Demo models arriving in time for the press launch, so should be available for test drives locally this Wednesday. Should have pricing Tuesday – have been pushing to try and get either a price or an idea of price, but unable to obtain yet.

I have been informed that I will be allocated 3 wagons, these I will not be able to choose colours or diesel/petrol, but there will be a small further availability for me to choose from (but will be very limited in both colour and specification).

There have been NO Skoda Australia factory orders of manuals in either Wagon or Sedan, so unfortunately, they will not be here until my factory orders arrive which I will be placing next week, after I have the full pricing, usually these cars take 5 months to arrive, however, as there are limited vehicles available at launch, I think that Skoda AU, will make contingency plans to ensure the vehicles arrive quicker, this will be subject to demand, and I will know a bit more after the official launch.

Thanks for the info. Will you be ordering one soon? I'm interested in the new RS, although not seriously looking for another 12 months. Hopefully by then a Diesel Wagon will have actually made it to Australia. Still concerned about the stock issue, although in another year it will hopefully be a different story. That being said, the wait for the Superb was 5 months, even in 2012 - colour was the main factor around the wait.

Saw my first non-dealer new Octavia (as in it didn't have Octavia stickers plastered all over the car) on the road today - certianly a decent enough looking car, even as a silver htachback. And much better looking car than the Liberty behind it.

Its been 99% confirmed that there will be no manual diesel RS available to order at launch

Remember the PDF that circulated about 3 weeks ago with early RS info. It mentioned there was no driver mode switching in the first batch. So it defaults to what? Anyone have any insight?

The biggest thing it changes in the RS is the volume level of the sound generator, but that isn't in the preproductions either.

Personally, I want the driving mode as I usually like heavier steering (I tweaked my Polo to be heavier via VCDS, no idea if this is possible on a no-mode RS) and unlike most complainers, I didn't mind the Sound Generator either.

This would be normal mode for a no-mode RS
